About · The person behind it

I’ve sat on both sides of the desk.

I’m Cess. I’ve led large teams, and now I work in executive support. Operating in Excellence is built from both seats: what a leader is actually checking for, and what it takes to deliver it when no one is checking.

Why this exists

Most VA training teaches the tools. The tools change.

What lasts is judgement. Knowing which of three urgent things to touch first. Owning a mistake before anyone finds it. Asking the obvious question instead of guessing.

That’s what I train for. Trust, curiosity and creativity, in that order, practised on real work until they’re habits.

Both seats

Two views of the same work.

Leading teams

I know what the person in charge is looking for.

Leading large teams in education taught me how quickly trust is built, and how quickly it goes. Reliability matters more than brilliance.

In support now

I know what it takes to deliver it.

Most of my work is invisible when it’s done well. Nothing slips. Nobody has to ask twice. That only happens when the standard holds without anyone checking.

How I work

Three habits I teach because I use them.

Habit 01

Automate what I can. Document what I can’t.

A process that only lives in one person’s head isn’t a process. Write it down, then make the machine do the boring part.

Habit 02

See the bigger picture.

Understand how the business runs and what it’s working toward. Then every task has a reason, and you can see how yours moves it forward.

Habit 03

Ask the obvious question.

It’s usually the one everyone else skipped. Asking early is cheaper than fixing late.

What I’ve built

Training you can practise, not just read.

My IT background shows up here. I build the tools trainees learn on.

Simulation

The executive desk

A working week with messages, email and a calendar that push back, with delegate access gated by role.

Assessment

Tool proficiency check

Scenario-based questions across 80 tools in 18 categories, so training starts where you actually are.

Launch

Resume builder

Helps trainees describe their work by outcome, not by task list, and export it ready to send.

Start here

Ask me the question you’ve been sitting on.

Whether you’re just starting or already working as a VA, tell me where you’re stuck. I’ll reply with a straight answer.
